Spokespersons from China’s central departments and local governments convened in Beijing on Sunday for the 3rd China Spokesperson Forum. The forum, sponsored by the State Council Information Office and Tsinghua University, brought together over 100 spokespersons, experts, scholars, and representatives of news organizations. The primary objective of the event was to explore strategies to enhance the efficiency of news releases, while also serving the overall work of the Party and the country.
During the forum, participants acknowledged the significant role played by press releases in shaping public opinion since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012. They emphasized that the frequent issuance of press releases by localities and departments across the nation has contributed to fostering a favorable public opinion environment for the advancement of the Party and the country’s cause.
To ensure effective communication and outreach, the forum stressed the importance of maintaining the correct political orientation, achieving desirable outcomes, and employing precise expression in news releases. By doing so, the objective is to enable the voice of the Party and government to reach every household within China while also ensuring that China’s voice is clearly heard throughout the world.
Additionally, the forum called for intensified training efforts to promote the high-quality development of press releases. By strengthening the skills and expertise of spokespersons, the aim is to enhance their ability to effectively convey information, address inquiries, and handle media interactions.
